Wobenzym Plus by Douglas Laboratories Product Description

What is Wobenzym Plus by Douglas Laboratories?

Douglas Laboratories, a leading provider of dietary supplements, is proud to offer its newest systemic enzyme supplement called Wobenzym Plus. This clinically researched formula is the most potent Wobenzym yet with its increased activity compared to Wobenzym N and the more convenient 4-tablet-a-day dose, which means fewer pills to consume than other Wobenzym formulations. Wobenzym Plus is offered in the form of entericcoated tablets and provides a specific formulation of proteolytic enzymes to the body to help maintain healthy joint function, optimal immune health, temporary relief of everyday aches, pains, and muscle soreness, and support of fast recovery following exertion.

Mucos Pharma has been making Wobenzym in Germancy since the 1960’s. Mucos has been dedicated to clinical research over the past 50+ years and has conducted over 200 clinical trials on Wobenzym. No other health supplement brand can look back on such an illustrious scientific heritage.

What does Wobenzym Plus do?

Developed by leading scientists and used by millions of people worldwide, the family of Wobenzym products has proven to be safe and useful for overall immune support. In addition, Wobenzym has numerous clinical studies that link its use to maintaining optimal joint health. In the human body, hundreds of chemical reactions occur during the course of normal metabolic processes. Many chemical reactions require significant energy in order to take place, and therefore need a catalyst to allow the reaction to proceed. The catalyst acts to lower the energy needed for the reaction to move forward. In the body, enzymes play the role of the catalyst and allow reactions to take place that otherwise would not occur. The enzyme itself is not consumed in this process and can be utilized again and again. Enzymes are relatively unique to each reaction and different enzymes will catalyze different reactions. Structurally, enzymes are complex molecules that are comprised of amino acid chains and can sometimes include co-factors which assist the enzyme in the chemical reaction. Some enzymes are sensitive to changes in pH and temperature and can be destroyed if exposed to less than ideal conditions.

Wobenzym Plus is a systemic enzyme formulation that contains a unique blend of enzymes from both plants and animals that haves been clinically studied for supporting numerous regulatory processes in the body. Systemic enzyme supplements work directly in the body after they are absorbed in the small intestine, and are not intended to aid in digestion. Consequently, these enzymes can be utilized to assist the body’s various regulatory and communications systems.† After the enzymes are absorbed, protease molecules can bind with molecules found within the blood including α -2-macroglobulin, resulting in the formulation of an α-2-macroglobulinprotease complex. This newly formed complex alters the molecular configuration of the α-2-macroglobulin molecule which results in a change in its affinity to bind certain cytokines. Once a cytokine is bound to the protease, the entire complex is able to be eliminated from the body, allowing normal cytokine balance and immune function to be maintained.

Wobenzym Plus can help support healthy joints and muscles, and support the immune system as well as normal wound healing processes. Wobenzym Plus tablets are enteric coated to ensure that the enzymes are protected and are not broken down in the stomach. This allows the enzymes to reach the small intestine where absorption can occur.

Who should use Wobenzym Plus?

Wobenzym Plus may be a useful dietary supplement for individuals wishing to support healthy joint, immune and circulatory function.
