Hornbeam, a Bach flower full of surprises

The Bach Flower Hornbeam, also called charm, is a rather special flower: it takes two or three years to germinate. Unlike many other plants, it does not bloom every spring. In spite of its slowness, it can be sudden and very beautiful. Certain species of Hornbeam produce for example superb flowers with the color crimson from April to June. However, most of the time, catkins, which are a type of hanging, yellow and green flowers at the end of the hornbeam branches, are found as soon as the weather is fine.

The hornbeam keeps a beautiful appearance regardless of the seasons. If its toothed and pleated leaves are of a tender green in spring and summer, they take on beautiful yellow and orange hues in autumn and remain hanging until the foliage is renewed. Very resistant, it knows how to adapt to all soils and does not need much light. Its roots, very dense and deeply anchored in the ground, allow it to live up to one hundred and fifty years, and to be very little sensitive to diseases.
