They are rich in antioxidants, some five different types of anthocyanins (with 3 times the quantity that black cherries have, and also more potassium and iron); they can help reduce the inflammation and joint pain from arthritis or gout (with better anti-inflammatory powers than aspirin, according to some studies); and they're a natural source of melatonin, so may be able to help you sleep. But they taste quite, well, tart, of course, and they're only available in-season for limited times, so it's quite convenient to be able to get them in a concentrated capsule form like this.
